Roaring 20s & Great Gatsby Themed Events: A Trendsetter in Los Angeles Entertainment
Themes from the Roaring 20s and The Great Gatsby Are Hugely Popular for Themed Events in Los Angeles
Our Speakeasy band from the roaring 20s will elevate your event with entertainment reflecting an era celebrated for its dazzling fashion, renowned celebrities, Flappers, and spirited jazz.
Our band's repertoire features the iconic sounds of trumpets and cornets by legends like Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, and Bix Beiderbecke, alongside classic tunes from jazz vocalists of the 1920s such as Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, and Mamie Smith, capturing the essence of blues and vaudeville.
"The Charleston," made famous by the 1922 musical "Running Wild," and its debut dance from Irving C. Miller's Broadway show "Liza" in 1923, marked a significant era. Following "The Charleston," the "Black Bottom" dance emerged in Harlem in 1924, reaching a national frenzy after its performance in the musical comedy review "George White's Scandals" of 1926 on Broadway. It surpassed "The Charleston" in popularity, becoming the premier social dance.
The inception of our band was inspired by the resurgence of interest in the 1920s, fueled by the adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" into a movie. This adaptation reignited enthusiasm for 1920s-themed Gatsby parties, which perfectly aligned with our background in performing vintage jazz and Old Hollywood tunes from the 1920s to the 1940s, allowing us to seamlessly transition to a specialized 1920s Speakeasy jazz band.
While The Great Gatsby theme continues to be a favorite for Los Angeles events, we've observed a significant trend towards Roaring 20s themed casino nights since the beginning of 2020. Our band showcases the immensely talented Chezzarai as our lead vocalist, adorned in classic flapper attire complete with headbands, white gloves, and her captivating presence on stage. She is supported by an ensemble of accomplished musicians, including Grammy winner Rick Rossi on saxophones and clarinet, Chris on piano, and Beni on stand-up bass, making our performances a memorable highlight of any event.
